One of the most popular procedures in cosmetic surgery is liposuction as it is relatively inexpensive and safer compared to other operations. Face Liposuction has become very popular in recent years especially in aging women. The results are very positive in removing age from the face
Face Liposuction : What is it?
The name given to face liposuction is deceiving as it is not necessarily concentrated on the face, it involves the whole part of the head area including neck, cheeks and jaw line. Liposuction is the taking away of fat and with face liposuction fat is taken from these areas making the face look and feel better.
Face Liposuction : How is it done?
The fat is removed from the areas mentioned earlier, these areas are prone to fat accumulating. The operation entails tiny incisions near the source of fat but in more unusual places to avoid scarring, like inside the nose or the corner of the mouth. This procedure is very effect if the patients skin is very elastic and can cope with the loss of fat. If not an extra operation is needed to remove the excess skin.
Face Liposuction helps define the face further, making the face appear more youthful. However if you do not look after the face, sagging can occur. This can be avoided by staying out of the sun and reducing dryness and exposure to pollution.
Face Liposuction : the risks
Face Liposuction incurs little risk due to the fact that fat around the face is minimal and easily removed. However one side effect of the operation is that when fat is removed the contours of the face can be reduced or lost and also develop a lumpy appearance. To aim to prevent this the surgeon must use the correct size cannula to extract the fat. Another problem involved is the risk of infection as fluid can be retained around the area operated, which can get infected should the correct postoperative care not be adhered to. Antibiotics should be taken for the advised amount of time to reduce the problem.
